Boosting Your Web Traffic

Boosting your web traffic is very important if you want your web site to grow and get noticed by the audience you are targeting. Let’s go over some ways that you can give your business a boost. Submitting press releases are a good way to get traffic and people to look at your web site. Their are paid and free press releases for you to choose from. Both have their advantages. If your on a limited budget than go the free route. If you want quick traffic and responses than a paid press release is probably the best way to go.

Contests are a way to drive traffic to your site. Everyone loves winning things and a contest is a way to get them to come to your web site and actually capture their email address which is an important way to get more traffic to your sites. Email signatures is a signature that is usually after your name in the body of an email. Most people will put a URL or a nice short link that will take them to a website. People tend to overlook these and the power that these really generate. Use them and an increase in traffic will follow.

Write an e-book and give it away. Why write an e-book your probably thinking right now. An e-book can be embedded with links to your sites. This means that everyone who downloads a free e-book will see your links and click them on. Imagine you give away 10,000 e-books you will have your links in ten thousand hands that actually will probably read the book and click on some of the links. It’s a win situation for you.

Is Email Marketing Dead?

Probably one of the mainstays on the Internet has always been email marketing. Is email marketing dead though? I guess alot of that depends on who you ask. Many marketers are reporting that email marketing is dead. Now I don’t know about that, but one thing for sure it sure has changed over the last few years. With spam on the rise email marketing has taken a real hit on that end of it. Spam is a problem that has hurt email marketing more than anything else. one of the reasons spam has hurt it so bad is that the spam filters that many of these email clients use actually block mail that isn’t spam and many will block html emails also. This my no stretch means that email marketing is dead. It definitely has slowed down as far as getting a very good response.

Can you do anything about it? Of course you always have different options to make your email to get through and get read.

Now their our some companies out their that you can join where they will make sure it gets through for a certain amount of money per month. That is one option that you have to get the message through. The other is set up a whitelist which is mail that you want to get through. By putting email addresses on the whitelist the mail has a real good chance of getting through.

Why A Blog is A Must In Today’s World

Blogs are all the rage and that isn’t going to change anytime soon. Why a blog is a must in today’s world can be answered many different ways. Let’s dig deeper into why blogs have become a very powerful marketing arm and something that as a business person or just an individual you should consider them very carefully.

Blogs are just what I call mini web sites that people or businesses post things on and people come to read. This can be beneficial in many different ways. Businesses benefit as they can introduce new concepts or products into the market and get a feel for how people like them or even dislike them based on a blog. Surveys can also be put up on blogs to judge how your business is progressing or what the public may think of it. Over 50,000 blogs each day are created and that trend doesn’t look to slow down anytime soon.

Is A Domain Name Really That Important?

People sometimes wonder as they are picking out a domain name if it’s really important or can you pick any name and have success. Let’s look at domain names and what is best for you. Always pick a domain name as the same as the name of your web site. This is important for a number of reasons, but the most important part is recognition of your web site.

One thing you want a domain name to do is when they say it they know exactly what your web site is. It’s just smart business to have a domain name that reflects the kind of business that your into. It works out better and will build your business quicker because they know what they are looking for. Should you use a generic name for your domain or get a name that is recognized.

Generic names should be avoided at all costs if possible. A regular domain name that reflects what you and your web sites are doing is crucial to your success. many people will tell you to have a very short domain name as it gets to the point and people tend to remember it easier than a long name. I will agree with that assessment to a certain extent. Longer names are usually harder to remember, but if it’s a catchy phrase people will always remember it. For the most part though go with a short name compared to the long name.

Tips To A Good Web Hosting Company

Getting a good hosting company it seems is something that you need if your going to do anything on the Internet anymore. These tips to a good web hosting company should be able to put you on the fast track to a quality web hosting. One of the first things is to know how much web hosting your going to need depending on the applications your going to run and the kind of business your in. Many companies will need larger hosting and thus searching for the right web hosting is also crucial to them as well. The first thing to look for is how well their uptime is. I don’t know how many times web hosts have disappointed be with long downtimes. This is frustrating for the company and especially customers trying to access your site. It will cost you many more dollars than if you went with a more costly host. Web hosting is big business and if one can’t keep the web site on line for at least 99 percent of the time than move on to someone else that will do that. Up time is critical if you value your online success.

The second very important tip to a good web hosting company is space. What kind of space do you require. If it’s small than it’s not as tough, but if your going to need alot of space than comparison shopping probably will be something to consider. Always buy more space than you will ever need. It’s never good when space is limited it just makes things run slower and it’s really a hassle when your site get’s shut down because your space is to small. Along with space the bandwidth is also something that many people never look for either. Bandwidth is how much visitors use up when they visit the site. Remember that videos use alot of bandwidth up so consider that very carefully before choosing the plan you like.

These splash pages and opt-in pages drive traffic to your web sites and get you email address so you can send your offers to. Are they really that important? I think they are really underrated and people are getting excellent results with them.

The other big advantage of opt-in pages and splash pages are what you can do with them. These pages can also be redirected to web sites so once you do get their email address you can show them a offer you may have. Opt-i pages and splash pages have now been around for a number of years, but haven’t really been used until recently. The reason they are real popular right now is their really isn’t a better way to build a mailing list. mailing lists are the lifeblood of most Internet marketing and if you have no mailing list you will find it very hard to make money on the Internet.
